Helping In Times Of Need

We United Methodists are known for our generosity. We have given billions over the years and will continue to do so.  Throughout the nation and world there are countless hospitals, orphanages, universities, nursing homes and other institutions to help people.

In times of disaster, we are there. We go with money, time, and even simple things like what we call flood buckets with cleaning supplies. We go and we stay until the job is done. Other churches and people come and go. We are there until we are no longer needed.

One example that we are involved with currently is called “Nothing But Nets”. It is to provide nets for beds in places where malaria is prevalent. We have teamed up with the National Basketball Association and Sports Illustrated to send nets to those who need them in places like Africa and Asia.

In times like tornadoes, famine, hurricanes or other times of disaster like floods, we are there to aid, comfort and care.

It is a record like none other and we are proud of our heritage and commitment to the future.

Whenever we have a need  or opportunity, we will post what and how you can help. Be sure to look for these ideas elsewhere on the site.
